How can you raise the value of your home without making huge changes?

Over the last year, many people have decided to update their homes. Today we want to let you know which areas will give you the best return on investment. If you are considering making an update, these are two things you might want to consider:

  1. Garage door replacement. Studies show that this brings the highest return on investment of any renovation.

  1. Exterior siding enhancements. Things like stone veneer siding bring the next highest ROI.

Major renovations to your kitchen, master bedroom, and bathroom are much more expensive and yield a lower return on investment. How do you determine what is the best thing to update in your home? There are two factors to consider when looking at any kind of renovation:

  1. Personal value. Make sure that it is something that will add personal value and enjoyment for you and your family.

  1. Think about the expense and return on investment. If you want to update your kitchen, consider changing the countertops, an appliance, or the paint. Those can enhance your home’s value for a minimal investment.
