How Do I Get My Home Ready for a Summer Sale?
Here are three things every summer seller should be focusing on.
The summertime tends to be a fantastic time to sell a home, particularly this year. With the current low interest rates, we expect more buyers in the marketplace this summer so we want to make sure that your home stands out versus the competition. To do this, we focus on three key areas:
1. Exterior. Summer is a time to be outside, and buyers will definitely be interested in what your home looks like from the exterior. Simple things like adding some flowers or power washing your driveway can make a huge difference. If you have outdoor entertaining areas, we certainly want to accentuate those as well.
Your A/C definitely needs to be in proper working order.
”2. Interior. During the summer (as with every other season of the year), we are always thinking about how best to declutter a home and make it feel open. We also want to make sure we can let in as much natural light as possible.
3. Home maintenance. If you’ve been putting off some repairs, now is the time to get them done. You want your home to have as few problems as possible when people come to see it. Deferred maintenance items often cost home sellers thousands of dollars because a buyer will not be willing to pay top dollar for a home they feel is in need of repair. Also, here in South Carolina it should go without saying that your A/C definitely needs to be in proper working order since that is a repair that a potential buyer can FEEL.
