Purchasing in 2020
For all you buyers out there, we’ve got three important tips that will ensure your next purchase is a successful one.
What does it take to buy in our 2020 market? Well, we’ve seen all sorts of market conditions in our years of experience, and we know that these three tips always ring true for buyers:
1. Meet with your mortgage lender. If you’re not paying with cash, you need to meet with your lender to get pre-approved before beginning your property search. Online property search tools can be helpful, but they’re not a substitute for going through the actual mortgage approval process.
There are quite a few home loan options out there, and a great lender can help you determine which is the best fit for you. Unsure about which lender to use? Contact us for a list of our preferred mortgage professionals.
2. Know what you’re looking for. Knowing how many bedrooms and bathrooms you need is a great start, yet there’s so much more to consider when planning your next purchase. We’ve seen plenty of buyers fail to clearly define what it is they want, and as a consequence they waste a lot of time looking at homes that aren’t right for them.
To avoid this discouraging experience, we go through a needs analysis with our buyers in the beginning. That way, we’re on the same page with your customized home search. Time won’t be wasted showing you homes you don’t want, and you won’t have to worry about someone else making an offer on the dream home you never got to see.
3. Be ready to make a decision. Already in 2020 we’ve seen homes go under contract within one or two days, some with multiple offers. We expect this trend to continue throughout the year. When it comes to buying homes, remember this: The decision to ‘sleep on it’ might prevent you from ever getting to sleep in it.
When you see the home that’s right for you, you have to be ready to submit your offer. So if 2020 is the year you buy your first home, or perhaps your next home, reach out to us and we will walk you through the process. It can sometimes be complicated and emotional, so ensure a positive outcome by giving us a call or sending us an email.
We’d love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have.
