In our last post, we discussed some interior projects with a great return on investment, so today we will take a step outside and talk about some outdoor projects that will get you the biggest bang for your buck:

1. Lawn and landscaping. This is an often overlooked area, even though it is the first thing people will see when they pull up to your home. Make a great first impression by investing in a landscaper to develop and maintain a beautiful lawn. In our area we often have to do battle with invasive plant species, such as crabgrass, and weather conditions that can cause your look unkempt. Spending money and time on your curb appeal tends to be a great investment - one that you can enjoy, too.

2. Deck and patio. If you have one, consider replacing old boards on your deck and have it repainted or stained. If you do not have a deck, you could add one. A patio is another great way to improve your outdoor space. These areas provide a great place to enjoy the outdoors at your home and/or entertain family and friends.

3. Fire features. Fire features like a fire pit or even an outdoor fireplace are an awesome way to enhance your guests’ experience when you entertain and can provide year-round enjoyment of your yard - even during the winter months.

4. Grill and outdoor kitchen. Having or adding a grill space is a great way to utilize our outdoor space. It may be a simple area to place your grill or it could be as elaborate as an outdoor kitchen set up. Keep in mind that an outdoor kitchen could cost a lot of money to have installed, but it can also add value to your home and provide a great amenity for outdoor entertainment.
