Today I’m going to address a question we often get asked this time of year: “Should I list my home now, or wait until the spring?”
People recognize that there are generally more people looking for homes when the weather is nicer and there are more homes listed. But I want to share some compelling reasons, based on our experience here at the Upstate Home team (and also on market research), as to why you should consider listing your home now.
1. Low inventory. Wintertime is characterized by a lower inventory; in fact, inventory goes up an average of 38% in spring, and another 13% in summer. If you list now, your home will stand out more.

2. Serious buyers. The only kind of buyer who would brave inclement weather and juggle holiday schedules is a buyer with an earnest intent to purchase. Usually, they’re looking because of a job relocation or some other influencing factor that compels them to buy today.
3. Seller’s market. The previous two factors combined to create a unique seller’s market that can be capitalized on.
